Energy Efficient Home Heating CT

With a Ductless Heating System

WHAT IS THE MOST ENERGY EFFICIENT WAY TO SUPPLEMENT HEATING IN YOUR HOME?

Today’s technology offers very efficient options to heat your home!

Long ago the caveman used firewood to heat their caves because the dinosaurs hadn’t died yet, and therefore, fossil fuel was non existent. Many cavemen probably died from carbon monoxide poisoning, but they saved a lot of money on their heating bills (and insurance).

We have come a long way.

I have installed thousands of high efficient heating systems for Connecticut homeowners.

I found that one of the most conventional, high efficient heating systems is the newer Ductless Heat Pump.

The utility companies are raving about Ductless Heat Pumps. Not only do they recommend them; they offer incentives and the federal government offers a tax credits.

A Ductless Heat Pump is a high efficient Heating and Air Conditioning system combined into one system. Not only is it one of the most efficient heating systems; it is also one of the most efficient air conditioning systems.

There will be no need for using those noisy, ugly window air conditioners anymore!

4 Key Factors Account for the High Efficiency of a Ductless System:

  1. Ductless systems operate using 25% to 50% less energy than other heating and air conditioning systems.
  1. Ductless systems allow the user to control each heating/cooling zone independently, eliminating the costly over-heating and cooling common to central air systems. Why pay to heat or cool rooms that are not currently occupied?
  1. While central air systems lose as much as 30% efficiency through air leaks and conduction in the ductwork, ductless systems distribute air directly to each zone, resulting in greater efficiency. Ductless systems use inverter-driven, variable speed compressors that allow the system to maintain constant indoor temperatures by running continuously at higher or lower speeds. Thus, the system can ramp-up or down without great losses in operating efficiency, avoiding the energy intensive on/off cycling common in electric resistance and forced air systems.
  1. Modern ductless systems have ultra-high Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratios (SEER) between 16 and 22, and Heating Seasonal Performance Factors (HSPF) between 8.5 and 11.

3  Reasons Why You Are CRAZY If You Heat Your Home with Electric Heat in Connecticut!

  1. You own your whole home and you are probably confined to a few rooms. You don’t want to turn on all of the electric heaters because it will cost a fortune.  That is no way to live.
  2. Connecticut’s electricity rates are the highest in the continental United States.
  3. You are paying more than anyone else to heat your home.

A Ductless Heat Pump will provide economic relief for homeowners that heat with electricity. A pilot program from the Connecticut Utility Companies was conducted to test the feasibility of using Ductless Heat Pumps in comparison to a home where electric heat was the primary heating source. The evaluation estimated a significant savings (between 25% and 50%) as well as reducing the summer air conditioning electrical consumption.

Additionally, the majority of Ductless Heat Pump users are very satisfied with the quality of the heating and cooling.

HOW a Ductless Heat Pump System Works:

  • A Ductless Heat Pump system has 2 major components. A wall mounted unit and a unit mounted outside the home
  • You can cool or heat just one room, or have multiple inside units work independently and can be connected to one outside unit. For example:  One unit can be installed in your living room, one in the kitchen, one in the master bedroom, and one in the your kid’s bedroom.
  • Remote-Control Thermostats control each unit for the desired temperature in each room
  • A Ductless Heat Pump does use electricity, but if the fuel used by a conventional furnace or boiler was redirected to supply power for an electric heat pump, about 25-50% less fuel would be needed, also resulting in 25-50% less emissions.
